Yogic Philosophy

Join the Real Talk Philosophy Wednesday or Thursday night for a series of lectures, art, and community discussions exploring yogic philosophy.

Despite having more than 250 million practitioners worldwide, and more than $80 billion in revenue annually, modern practitioners know very little about the ancient philosophical roots of this practice. Yoga is an ancient practice with history dating back more than 4000 years. Today, though, the term conventionally refers only to its very recently developed physical component. This postural practice, though, was only developed in the last 200 years. Before this, yoga was a system allowing its practitioners to cast off the veil of delusion and to see the world clearly, leading to experiences of oneness, equanimity, non-judgment, peace, mental-clarity, and selflessness.
